The enterprise VODOHOSPODÁRSKA VÝSTAVBA, STATE ENTERPRISE organizes every year during the school summer holidays a children’s camp “Project of environmental education – VV summer day camp”. Within the awareness campaign of the project “Improving the condition of selected wetlands in the left-hand branch system of the Danube River”, on 29 July and 05 August 2022, we participated with our project at environmental camp activities taking place at the headquarters of the enterprise in Bratislava.
The days of the awareness campaign were in the spirit of the educational program of the camp and were dedicated to presentations about wetlands and life in the wetland ecosystem under the leading of Ing. Monika Supeková.
Through our project, the children learned what wetlands are, how they are formed, why they are important, how to take care of them and last but not least about the sustainability of the good condition of the Danube wetlands. The children were also introduced to our project through audio-visuals and, with the help of the project team and animators, they made their own wetland with miniature models of the animals that live in wetlands.
Similar awareness campaign activities are planned for both primary and secondary school children during the next school year 2022/2023.
The Project „Improving the condition of selected wetlands in the left-hand branch system of the Danube River“ benefits from a € 429 244 grant from Norway through the Norway Grants. The project has been co-financed from the State Budget of the Slovak Republic in the amount of € 75 749.
